STEP BY STEPS

CREATE 1-INCH SECTION BACK FROM HAIRLINE

Use your fingers to create a section approximately 1-inch in size, back from your hairline, across the top of your head. Clip away the remaining hair for fuss free styling of your braid.

TAKE SECTION FROM START OF HAIRLINE, SPLIT INTO THREE

Beginning at one side of your head, take the start of the section you’ve just created and split it into three even sections.

PASS INNER STRAND OVER MIDDLE STRAND

Take the inner strand of hair (nearest the crown) and pass it over the middle strand.

PASS OUTER STRAND OVER MIDDLE STRAND

Then take the outer strand (nearest the face), add a little more hair from the front and pass it over the middle strand, beginning to work up, over the top of your head.

PASS INNER STRAND OVER MIDDLE STRAND

Go back to the inner strand (nearest the crown) and pass it over the middle strand again without adding any extra hair from the back.

PASS OUTER STRAND OVER MIDDLE STRAND

Go back to the outer strand (nearest the face) and add a small amount of hair again before passing over the middle strand.

PREP LENGTHS OF HAIR WITH PRODUCT

Take down the rest of your hair and prep with ghd curl hold spray, spritzing through the lengths. This will ensure your waves will stay in place all day and protect from the heat of the styler.

SECTION HAIR FROM EAR TO EAR

Clip away most of your locks, leaving only a section at the bottom of your head, sectioned horizontally from ear-to-ear.

PLACE STYLER AT ROOT AND CURL

From this loose section of hair, take a 1-inch section. Place the ghd platinum+ styler at the root, rotate half a turn and glide down towards the ends.

REPEAT STEP 11, WORKING IN OPPOSITE DIRECTION

Take another section of hair and repeat the curling technique but rotate the styler in the opposite direction. This will increase texture and create a natural finish.

CONTINUE TO CURL ALL HAIR, ALTERNATING DIRECTION EACH TIME

Repeat this technique throughout all of your hair, always alternating the direction of the styler rotation as you go.

WORK THROUGH HAIR WITH DETANGLING COMB

Gently brush through the curls with a ghd detangling comb to transform them into soft waves.
