HAIR DRYERS & BLOW DRYERS

The full ghd professional hair dryer and blow dryer range is built for fast drying without unnecessary heat damage. There’s an option for all hair types, whether you have fine hair, thick hair or curly hair, and every model comes with a 2-year warranty. Prices for ghd hair dryers range from $179 for the travel model up to $645 for the flagship. Compare them below and find the right hair dryer for you.

Choosing the right ghd hair dryer for you

Two things will point you towards the right hair dryer: how much power your hair needs, and how much styling you want the dryer to handle for you.

ghd Speed is the most powerful ionic hair dryer in the range, using halo® dual-airflow technology to dry hair faster. It’s the one to choose if you want a quick salon blow dry at home ($645)

ghd Helios® professional hair dryer delivers professional-quality results with Aeroprecis® technology for precise styling control and powerful airflow. Lightweight and ergonomically balanced ($429).

The ghd Air® keeps things simpler. It covers the everyday basics, giving you fast drying and frizz control without extra modes to work through ($319).

Then there’s the ghd Flight+®, which is made for travel. It delivers 78% of the power of a full-size ghd hair dryer, but with a 47% more lightweight design ($179).

Prefer one tool instead of juggling a dryer and brush? ghd Duet Blowdry is a 2-in-1 hair dryer brush that takes hair from wet to blow-dried with no heat damage ($645).

ghd Duet Style does something slightly different, drying and straightening hair in one pass. You’ll find it with the hot air stylers rather than the dryers.

ghd hair dryer technology: ionic drying with no heat damage

ghd dryers use ionic technology to dry hair faster and reduce frizz and flyaways compared with naturally dried hair.

Negative ions move through the airflow and help the hair cuticle sit flatter as you dry hair. The result is a smoother finish with more shine and fewer flyaways than you tend to get from air drying. The heat and speed settings can then be adjusted to suit your hair. Keep both lower for fine or damaged hair; thick hair or curly hair can usually take more heat and airflow.

The ghd Speed gets its extra power from halo dual-airflow technology, designed to move a lot of air without giving up precise control. ghd Helios works differently. Its Aeroprecis technology concentrates the airflow, so the air goes where you actually aim the dryer.

Apply a heat protectant first, then use enough heat to get the job done without automatically reaching for the maximum setting. A quicker dry at a controlled temperature means less heat exposure overall.

Match a ghd hair dryer to your hair type

Every ghd dryer is built for all hair types and hair lengths, so this is the easiest match rather than the only one.

Fine hair or short hair: ghd Air. It’s lightweight, easy to use and gives you frizz control without more power than quicker-drying hair really needs.

Thick hair, long hair or hair prone to frizz: ghd Helios or ghd Speed. Both give you the extra power that makes a noticeable difference when there’s simply more hair to get through.

Volume with a built-in brush: ghd Duet Blowdry, for 3x more volume with no heat damage.

Curly or coily hair: ghd Helios with the diffuser attachment, which dries without disturbing your curl pattern.

Travelling: ghd Flight+.

For technique, our blow dry how-to guides take you through the styling step by step.
